Singers in Melodia are introduced to a traditional choir rehearsal format, with a focus on rehearsing choral music and developing vocal technique. The choir sings in unison (one part) and is introduced to the exciting skill of singing songs in multiple parts by learning two-part rounds. Melodia singers learn foundational singing technique, and develop sight-singing and ear training skills. Singers also develop their musicality by participating in weekly group folk dancing sessions.

Melodia performs in the Columbia Choirs concert series and in the community throughout the year. Young singers will be invited to sing with Melodia through a choir placement appointment or by promotion from Prima.
